UWVA have three industry leading brands of ladder available for sale & we endeavour to hold a good range in stock in Christchurch.
Pelco - wooden lamilite & fibreglass extension ladders. Pelco ladders are manufactured in NZ & are designed to exceed all the requirements of Australian & NZ Standard AS/NZS 1892/3 & European Standard EN131. They are the preferred ladder by many of the power utilities companies in NZ.
Indalex - alumimium & fibreglass ladders both in Pro Series & Tradesman Series, comprising of step, extension, platform, step extension & specialty. We also have available a range of accessories to fit both the aluminium & fibreglass ladders. Indalex ladders are designed & manufactured to meet or exceed Australian & NZ (AS/NZS) Standards. The Indalex factory is ISO 9000-2000 Quality Assured & is verified by Lloyds of London.
Branach - Fibreglass ladders are manufactured in Australia to meet & exceed Australian & NZ Standards AS/NZS 1892/3.
Branach produce various step/platform, single & extension ladders as well as a varied range of accessories for all of their ladder types.
Ladder Audit Inspections
UWVA carry out ladder COC (Code of Compliance) audits for many of the major power utilities companies throughout the South Island on a six monthly rotation. We also carry out audits for other companies on an annual basis to assist them meeting their Health & Safety compliance requirements.
We can tailor an Audit plan for your company (large or small) within the Canterbury region or elsewhere in the South Island.

Ladder Service and Repair
Following the COC audit process, UWVA can carry out any repair or refurbishment required to a ladder to enable it to stay in service. Should the repair be unable to be completed in the field or at the time of audit to a standard acceptable to issue a COC, then UWVA can assist in arranging transportation of the ladder/s to our Selwyn based workshop to carryout & complete required work / repair.
UWVA also carry out service / repairs on ladders which are not part of any audit program. UWVA stock a range of spare parts for other general brands of ladders which are commonly used by Plumbers / Electrians / Builders & Maintenence companies. We are more than happy to assist in refurbishing your favourite ladder so it can continue to be used in a safe manner by you or your staff.
Note: If UWVA are unable to repair a ladder to an acceptable safety standard then we can assist in the purchase of a new ladder with comparable features from our varied range.
